The Town of Surfside invites Miamians to pack their picnic baskets for a laid-back Moroccan Beach Picnic to kick-off the town’s much-anticipated monthly First Fridays event on Friday, May 5.
The event will take place on Surfside’s pristine beach. Enjoy live Middle Eastern music, belly dancers, drum circle and tipi village for kids, cold-pressed juices and more.
The Moroccan Beach Picnic is scheduled for 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on May 5, 2017 at the Oceanfront Community Center, located at 9301 Harding Avenue in Surfside.
This is the first of a series of four events, which will be held every first Friday of the month, from May until August.
Additional events include: a Caribbean-themed picnic with a Bahamian junkanoo band (June 2); Americana-style picnic with s'mores, American folklore storyteller, haystack maze on the beach and more (July 7); August gives rise to Bollywood with Indian food, henna tattoos, and Bollywood dancers (August 4.)
